Bill Smith received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Southern Illinois University and a MFA in sculpture from the University of Illinois. He also holds a technical degree in Diesel Mechanics. For over 10 years Smith has exhibited widely across the USA and Canada, notably at Plug In MB, White Flag Projects in St.Louis and the 5th Biennale de Montreal.

Using an inter-disciplinary approach between art and engineering, Smith creates magical political works that present viewers with the interconnected, interdependent, and mechanical character of our world and the complexities at the root of our perception of natural beauty.
